• On this day in 1905, the very first Rotary Club was founded in nearby Chicago by attorney Paul P. Harris and three of his business associates. They met in a small office in the Unity Building on Dearborn Street with the simple goal of recapturing the friendly spirit they had known in the small towns of their youth. That single meeting sparked a global movement of "Service Above Self" that now includes over 46,000 clubs worldwide—including the many active Rotary chapters serving our neighbors right here in DuPage County today.
