• On this day in 2001, the Australia national men's soccer team truly made history! They set a world record for the largest victory in an international match, absolutely dominating American Samoa with a whopping 31–0 win. Talk about a goal-fest! And if that wasn't enough, Australia's Archie Thompson also broke the record for most goals by a player in an international match, netting an incredible 13 goals himself. What a day for the record books!
